Change is hard, it can be challenging and you can make a change that counts.

Children

I engage children in what they know how to do best. Play. I offer a safe space where children can express themselves through whatever means comfortable in a non-judgmental and caring environment.  I have experience working with age groups as young as 3 y/o up  through adolescence. I offer guidance to help alleviate symptoms of depression, anxiety, low self-esteem other mood and behavioral concerns.  My experience includes play therapy, elements of art therapy, skills from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).  I also encourage practicing skills of mindfulness to support  long lasting changes for all of my clients.

Adolescents

Even though teenagers may feel like they're too old to play with toys, we are never too old to play a game.  There's something to be said about a connection during a game between two people.  I use a collaborative approach with adolescents and give them an opportunity to reflect on who they are and who they'd like to be. Together we create a plan and set goals and learn how to take steps to reach those goals. I believe offering teenagers the skills to better manage life's difficult emotions of rejection, loneliness, anger, and the many other other forms of suffering, can help them become happier and healthier adults.

Families

My work is primarily with individuals, however, there are times when it may be necessary to include parents or guardians in a session with or without the child or adolescent present.  If I feel family therapy would be beneficial I would make the recommendation to another family therapist to ensure the client advocacy.  If the individual client would like to remain in individual therapy it is necessary they feel they have a non-bias advocate.

Adults

Each of us possesses the strength and ability to learn what motivates us and what holds us back. Together Iā€™d like to create a plan to aid in reducing the pain and suffering surrounding whatever struggles you have in life and help you discover new ways to find happiness and inner-peace.  Throughout my experience I have learned we all have a unique perspective of our existence. At the same time we all share similar struggles in our relationships with others and ourselves.  We all want happiness and to ease our suffering and this is done through change.  Change is hard. At times it can be challenging.  You can make a change that counts.
